What price do you pay for the RemoteWork Lifestyle?

In the world of online work, it's not all about working by the pool (though having a pool in your house that's a definite perk!).
Let's talk about some of the realities of this lifestyle, the good, the not-so-good, and everything in between.

1️⃣ Flexibility:

One of the most attractive aspects of online work is setting your schedule.
Kids' tennis practice at 3 PM? No problem!
Need to care for a loved one with special needs? You've got it, without sacrificing your income.

But with great power comes great responsibility – or, in this case, blurred lines between work and life. It's so easy to be swallowed by work because it's right there, and even watching a movie becomes a challenge as you start telling yourself that you can work in the meantime but end up working and rewinding 6 times back to the 7th minute of the movie.

It's so easy to get swallowed by work because it's right there,

and I LOVE WORKING!

so even watching a movie becomes a challenge as You Start Telling Yourself that You Can Do Both. However, you end up working and rewinding six times to the 7th minute of the movie.

I'm also very cautious regarding what example I set for my kids. And I do not praise multiple entertainments at the same time: I'm a dinosaur in many ways, and it is mind-boggling that an average attention span today is 3 seconds :)
{food for thought}

2️⃣ Visibility:

Online work provides a smorgasbord of opportunities.

{Word of the Day}

Smorgasbord - (noun)
a buffet offering a variety of hot and cold meats, salads, etc.
- a wide range of something; a variety.

You can virtually be anything you want to be. But it also means navigating the bustling digital highway and making your mark. While an office worker might bump into their next big opportunity in the elevator, online workers must create their own traffic. Whenever you see someone share an image or a thought blog post, consider it a bump in the hallway :)).

3️⃣ Income:

In the online world, the sky's the limit when it comes to your earnings. Fancy a pay rise? Draft a persuasive proposal and voila, you could be making more money within an hour!
However, Unlike the corporate world, there's no annual review to guarantee a raise. It's up to you to justify your worth and negotiate that increase.

Navigating the world of online work can be a thrilling journey. There are challenges, sure, but with a bit of humor, a lot of determination, and a strong Wi-Fi connection, you can truly shape the work-life you've always dreamed of.

I will share my routine in my next post; there is nothing you have yet to hear before or that I invented, but it's practical and works for me.

- separating work from life,
- meeting people and my next opportunity online,
- Additionally, I have a remarkable track record of successfully presenting salary increase proposals. Without fail, every client I've approached has renewed my contract at the enhanced rate, as I'm worth it! While I may occasionally question this belief during the moon eclipse, I have incredible persuasive skills that convince my clients, and they believe even at times when I don't :))
